RouteWise Logistics was running its shipment tracking platform on significantly over-provisioned infrastructure, paying for far more server capacity than actual usage required, while still experiencing occasional slowdowns during peak shipment volume periods.

Infrastructure had been sized based on rough early estimates years earlier and never revisited as usage patterns became clearer. Peak load and average load were dramatically different, but the infrastructure was static rather than scaling with actual demand.

We right-sized the core infrastructure based on actual usage data, then implemented auto-scaling so capacity expanded automatically during genuine peak periods rather than running at peak-capacity cost around the clock. Monitoring and alerting were added to catch performance issues before they affected users.
RouteWise saw a substantial reduction in monthly infrastructure costs while simultaneously improving uptime during peak shipment periods, resolving the exact problem the original over-provisioned setup had failed to prevent.
"We were paying a lot every month for infrastructure that still slowed down exactly when we needed it most. The new setup costs less and has not had a single peak-period slowdown since launch." — VP of Engineering, RouteWise Logistics
